Since its establishment, GMG has grown into a multi-jurisdictional interdealer broker with a presence across the UK, Middle East, Europe and Africa.

Our Foundation

GMG was established with a clear mandate: to provide institutional clients with specialised interdealer brokerage services across key financial markets. From inception, the firm operated across both London and Dubai, with GMG Brokers Ltd authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and GMG (Dubai) Ltd established in the Dubai International Financial Centre under the regulation of the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). This foundation shaped GMG's approach, grounded in regulatory integrity, strong governance, and long-term client relationships. Over time, GMG expanded its regulated footprint through GMG Europe B.V., while continuing to strengthen its presence across international and emerging financial markets, including Africa.

Global Expansion

As the firm's client base and product capabilities expanded, so did its geographic footprint. The establishment of GMG Europe B.V. in Amsterdam under Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM) regulation ensured continuity of EU services following Brexit. Expansion into sub-Saharan Africa through GMG Africa (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg further strengthened the group's regional presence.

2022 — Europe
GMG Europe B.V. established in Amsterdam — AFM regulated, strengthening GMG's European footprint.
2024 — OTF Venue
GMG Europe B.V. granted Organised Trading Facility (OTF) authorisation by the AFM.
2024 — SwapClear
GMG Europe B.V. approved as a SwapClear Trading Venue by LCH.
Latest Expansion — Africa
GMG Africa (Pty) Ltd established in Johannesburg, supporting GMG's continued expansion across African markets.

GMG operates through a group structure headed by GMG Group Limited, the group's non-operating holding company.

GMG Group Limited provides strategic oversight and governance across the group and does not conduct brokerage or regulated activities.

All client-facing brokerage services are provided through GMG's regulated operating entities located in the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.

Founded by Marco Saviozzi, who brings over three decades of institutional brokerage experience, GMG is built on strong industry expertise and long-standing market relationships. The firm continues its expansion across regulated markets, guided by its founding values and institutional discipline.

Marco Saviozzi holds an MBA in Finance from IEMI, Geneva, and began his career at Xerox before transitioning into financial markets with Viel (now Tradition) in Paris. In 1993, he joined ICAP in London, where he led the French Franc IRS desk and advanced to Co-Head of the Euro Desk. He later relocated to New York to lead the Equity Derivatives business. In 2007, following 14 years at ICAP, Marco established Newedge in Dubai before co-founding GMG, bringing together a team of experienced professionals to develop a multi-market broking business.
